Liverpool host Manchester City in a huge game at the top of the Premier League on March 11. Jurgen Klopp’s side sit just one point above the visitors, and both sides have the opportunity to overtake Arsenal with a win at Anfield. Last Word on Football brings you our Liverpool predicted lineup.

Liverpool Predicted Lineup vs Manchester City

How Liverpool Have Lined-up Recently

Caoimhin Kelleher starts in goal, with Conor Bradley at right-back and Andy Robertson at left-back. Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate start as the centre-backs.

Wataru Endo starts as the defensive midfielder, with Alexis Mac Allister moving to a slightly more advanced position following the return of the Japanese from injury. Harvey Elliott joins them.

On the left wing is Luis Diaz. Darwin Nunez has returned from injury as a striker, whilst Cody Gakpo has filled in at right wing.

Liverpool Recent Form and Tactics

Liverpool comfortably beat Sparta Prague 5-1 in the first leg of the Europa League Round of 16.

Kelleher had another star performance, stopping 1.40 expected goals on target and only conceding to an own goal.

The Irishman made three vital stops, keeping the Czech team at bay. It was concerning how many good opportunities they created.

Nunez continued his hot form, scoring in his fourth consecutive game. His brace consisted of two excellent finishes, showing why Klopp was right to put faith in the Uruguayan.

Liverpool Injuries to Consider Vs Manchester City

Team news was revealed in Friday’s press conference.

Konate was subbed off in the Europa League with an injury, and Klopp revealed that: “Ibou was rather positive…but that doesn’t mean a lot unfortunately”. It seems unlikely that the “top talent” will start against Manchester City.

Mohamed Salah returned from his injury against Sparta Prague, and Klopp explained that “there is nothing, he is fine”.

Curtis Jones will return around the international break, with Alisson Becker and Trent Alexander-Arnold set to return after the international break. Diogo Jota is out for multiple months.

Ryan Gravenberch will not return from his injury sustained in the EFL Cup final, whilst Thiago Alcantara, Stefan Bajcetic, and Joel Matip are still recovering.
