Liverpool host rock-bottom Sheffield United at Anfield, on April 4. Arsenal’s victory the night prior means that the Reds require a victory to return to the top of the table. This is the Last Word on Sports Liverpool predicted lineup.

Liverpool Predicted Lineup vs Sheffield United in Top vs Bottom Clash

How Liverpool Have Lined-up Recently

Caoimhin Kelleher starts in goal with Conor Bradley at right-back; Joe Gomez started the previous match at left-back. Virgil van Dijk and Jarell Quansah have played as the centre-backs.

Liverpool’s midfield consists purely of summer signings: Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Alexis Mac Allister.

Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah play on the wings, with Darwin Nunez as the centre-forward.

Liverpool’s Recent Form and Tactics Ahead of Sheffield United Match

Liverpool bagged a big three points in the title race, beating Brighton 2-1 whilst Manchester City and Arsenal drew with each other.

Mac Allister was the star of the show against his former club. The Argentine created the most chances on the pitch (5) including a defence-splitting pass to assist Salah’s winner.

He was also important defensively, winning back possession six times – once less than the match-leader.

This new, well-balanced, largely youthful midfield has been crucial to Jurgen Klopp’s success this season; controlling the midfield against Manchester City and troubling Rodri was pivotal to achieving a draw against the Sky Blues.

Liverpool Injuries to Consider

Curtis Jones is “in full training and in contention” and could “play a few minutes”. The “insane” youngster was in fine form before injury and will be a big boost to the Reds.

Meanwhile, Andy Robertson will return after missing the Brighton clash. Endo will undergo late tests after a knock: “We have to see”, says Klopp.

The Liverpool manager said the Reds could expect that “From next week” Diogo Jota, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Alisson Becker will “be hopefully in parts of team training”.

Stefan Bajcetic is training fully with the U21s, but Klopp revealed that he does not think Joel Matip will feature again for Liverpool (this season, though his contract expires this summer).

Thiago Alcantara is still out.
