Liverpool are still pushing to find their preferred manager after Jurgen Klopp departs.

The Reds know that they will have to make do without the German after the season concludes.

With Xabi Alonso committing to Bayer Leverkusen, Ruben Amorim is emerging as the favorite.

Over the weekend, Alonso did admit that his future was not as certain as had been previously communicated.

He said, after Bayer Leverkusen won the league: "When I feel that the team is behind me, the feeling that they want to believe, it's much easier.

That was my great enjoyment, that I had the feeling that the team was really committed, and once you have that it's much easier.

"I don't know what it will mean for the future, but at the moment it feels pretty great."
