Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp named LMA Manager of the Year
On Monday, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was named League Managers Association Manager of the Year and awarded the Sir Alex Ferguson Trophy after he guided the Reds to the club's first top-flight title in 30 years.
Ferguson, the legendary former Manchester United manager, announced the news on Monday during a socially distanced presentation.
Liverpool defeated fellow Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur in the 2019 Champions League Final to begin a historic run that included UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup glory. When the Premier League halted play in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, Liverpool held a 25-point advantage over Manchester City atop the table.
Liverpool clinched the league title for the season that finished on Sunday in late June.
As noted by Sky Sports, Barclays Premier League Manager of the Year will be announced early next month. Needless to say, Klopp is a favorite to earn that honor.
