Lazio president Claudio Lotito was proud of his work in the summer transfer window and hinted at a further arrival.

The Biancocelesti sold star midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to Al-Hilal last month for around €42 million and have worked hard to strengthen Maurizio Sarri’s squad, although they did take time to start accelerating in the market.

Lazio have already signed six players this summer – Valentin Castellanos, Daichi Kamada, Nicolo Rovella, Luca Pellegrini, Gustav Isaksen and Luigi Sepe – and two more reinforcements will arrive in the shape of Matteo Guendouzi and Christos Mandas.

Speaking to Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Lotito discussed Lazio’s summer transfer window and what’s next.

I have built a Ferrari, now the pitch must speak. I’ve already spent €100 million on reinforcements between signings, commissions and wages, without the second instalment of Milinkovic-Savic which will come in a year’s time. And the market is not over yet…

Recent reports suggest that Lotito is now working to pick up Juventus veteran Leonardo Bonucci, having pushed to convince Sarri of the deal. With less than 48 hours left in the summer transfer window, updates are expected imminently.

Lazio have also started working on tying down their stars to new contracts, with Luis Alberto recently putting pen to paper on a new five-year deal.
