Lukaku has confidence
“We must be ice cold in front of goal, we know that we need an intelligent game, but we have the players who can do it. I have confidence,” Lukaku told Sky Sport Italia.
As Paulo Dybala is not fully fit, Roma switch to what seems to be a 3-5-2 formation with Sardar Azmoun alongside Lukaku.
Bayer Leverkusen are unbeaten all season, winning 40 of their 48 competitive matches, and have already won the Bundesliga title.
“We must be precise in possession, then be aggressive and try to win the ball back as quickly as possible. We have watched back the recordings over the last few days and examined the errors we made and I think we are prepared.”
The next few days are going to be decisive for Roma’s season, as they are in the Europa League semi-final, then go head-to-head with Atalanta for fifth place in Serie A, which would be worth qualification for the Champions League.
“This is what sport is like, but it’s good to have finals and this effectively is like a final for us,” concluded Lukaku.
