According to reports in Spain, following his impressive pre-season performance against Derby County earlier this week, Manchester United’s recruitment team have been forced to ‘revalue’ young attacker Facundo Pellistri.

That’s according to a recent report from AS, who claims the Red Devils’ decision-makers were left impressed following the youngster’s senior goal against Wayne Rooney’s Derby County.

Pellistri, 19, was given his first senior start, albeit, a non-competitive one, by manager Solskjaer during the Red Devils’ first pre-season match.

Not only did United prepare for the new 2021-22 season by claiming a 2-1 victory over Derby County, but Pellistri was also a stand out performer and even managed to bag himself a goal in the process.

After being heavily linked with a return back to La Liga side CD Alaves – the club he spent the second half of last season out on loan with, it appears United’s hierarchy are having second thoughts about shipping him out for a second time.

At least that is how AS’ report reads anyway – they do not go into too much detail, but they do note that following his recent and classy showing, the club has now ‘revalued’ the teenage attacker – hinting that there may be a place for him in Solskjaer’s first-team squad next season.

Do you think Pellistri should be loaned out again or stay and be promoted to the club’s first team? – Let us know in the comments.
