Manchester United wing-back Alvaro Fernandez is delighted with his move to Benfica.

Taking the name 'Alvaro Carreras', the young Spaniard has joined Benfica on-loan to June with a permanent option.

He said today: "Benfica is a giant club, with incredible fans and I really want to start playing here now."

Revealing that Marcelo, with whom he worked with at Real Madrid, is a great reference in the position, lvaro Carreras believes that his previous loan with Granada in La Liga, in the first half of this season, can help him adapt with his new club.

I believe so. The months I had in the Spanish League weren't perfect because I suffered, but they helped me a lot," he added at his club presentation.
