Manchester City may wait one year to sign Tottenham's Harry Kane?

It appears the saga involving Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane and Manchester City may drag on beyond the summer transfer window.

ESPN's Rob Dawson reports that City are willing to wait an entire year to sign the three-time Premier League Golden Boot winner if Tottenham don't budge on their reported stance of rejecting City's supposed £100 million offer. Kane, serving as England's captain during the ongoing UEFA European Championship, is said to be valued at £150 million by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy and also has three years remaining on his current contract.

Reports surfaced ahead of the conclusion of the 2020-21 Premier League season last month that Kane informed Tottenham he wishes to leave this summer so he can pursue trophies elsewhere, but it's unclear if the forward will submit a transfer request or threaten a strike if Levy doesn't oblige. Kane could, however, spend one more season at White Hart Lane and then refuse to sign another extension, which would force Levy's hand next summer.

Dawson adds that Kane is currently "fully focused" on Euro 2020 as England prepare for the tournament's knockout rounds. He failed to hit the back of the net in any of the three group-stage matches.
