Manchester United are reportedly monitoring Bologna defender Jhon Lucumi.

The Reds are drawing up a list of defensive targets that already consists of Jarrad Branthwaite, Marc Guehi, Leny Yoro, Jean-Clair Todibo, Goncalo Inacio and more.

Fans will hope that the scouting network that exists at United can identify the best fit for our defence. There is a strong likelihood that we will be saying goodbye to players like Raphael Varane in the summer. Out with the old, in with the new?

Lucumi is the latest name to be added to the target list. It has been two years since he joined Bologna from Genk for around £7million, but the Serie A outfit could cash in and make a profit on his signature at the end of the season.

According to Diario AS, the Reds are one of several Premier League clubs watching the Colombia international. The report suggests United are willing to do crazy things to fight off interest from other clubs.

Only time will tell how interested United are when it comes to Lucumi.

The 25-year-old is part of a Bologna side chasing a Champions League spot.

With United having no left-footed centre-back to fill in for Lisandro Martinez, injuries are having a huge impact on our season and Erik ten Hag needs to quality and depth moving forward.
