According to reports, Manchester United will not be making a move for Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller.

The 34-year old attacker has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for quite some time but United will not be going ahead with the transfer, if latest reports are to be believed.

The Daily Mail reports that Manchester United will soon give up on Bayern star Thomas Muller, who wants to stay in the Bundesliga.

The experienced attacker recently signed a contract extension at the club. Ten Hag was chasing Muller because he wanted to give his somewhat inexperienced squad some experience upfront but the German great has closed all the doors to a move to the Premier League.

Muller has decided to stay in Germany. His recent commercial deal with Amazon Prime Video, wherein they are producing a behind-the-scenes documentary about Muller and his career, had a significant role in that choice.

ten Hag will now be looking at other options to add depth and experience to his inexperienced attack.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Muller’s teammate at Bayern Munich, is another veteran being eyed by the Red Devils, according to German outlet BILD. His lack of playing time since Harry Kane’s transfer from Tottenham has not pleased him.

Choupo-Moting would welcome a move to United and the Premier League, having played in the country before for Stoke City.

ten Hag is looking to strengthen a number of positions in the transfer window this month as he plans to turnaround United’s disastrous season which has seen them fall to eighth place in the Premier League, knocked out of the Champions League after finishing bottom of the group and knocked out of the Carabao Cup.
