Manchester United have been named as one of the sides who tracked Aberdeen starlet Calvin Ramsay, joining a host of Premier League sides in eyeing the right-back, according to the Sun.

The Sun report that Newcastle and Watford are currently battling for the 18-year-old’s signature, but that Everton, Leicester, the Red Devils, Southampton and Norwich have also watched Ramsay in action.

Ramsay made his first-team debut for Aberdeen, the old stumping ground of the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson, back in the 19/20 season with an outing in the Challenge Cup.

The full-back made a few more appearances for the side in the final stages of last season, and has sprung on that momentum as he’s established himself as an important player this term.

Ramsay has started 16 of his 19 appearances so far this term, showing his creativity with eight assists in a brilliant start to the campaign that recently saw him promoted to the Scotland Under-21s squad.

The Sun add that the Scottish Premiership side, who sit mid-table right now, value the ace at £4m.

Right now, the report suggests that Watford and Newcastle are the only sides to be in the process of formalising their interest in Ramsay, but with the progress he’s already made this season the talent may not be plying his trade out in Scotland for much longer.
