Reports suggest Manchester United could make PSV Eindhoven attacker Cody Gakpo our number-one priority in January.

We still don’t know what the club has planned for January since the Glazers have announced that Manchester United is up for sale during the week. I highly doubt they will be thinking about Erik ten Hag’s transfer kitty at a time they are set to pack their bags, but there is no denying that the team lacks a goalscorer.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract has been terminated with immediate affect, which leaves Ten Hag with two players that can player centrally up front. Marcus Rashford is better on the left, which could raise questions about our apparent interest in Gakpo, while Anthony Martial has struggled with injuries this season.

According to Foot Mercato, United have made Gakpo their primary target for the January transfer window and the report claims he could cost approximately £60 million.

The Dutchman starts in the 4pm game at the World Cup against Ecuador – and will be hoping to make it two goals in as many games on the biggest stage.

I reckon there will be a number of clubs watching Gakpo at the World Cup rather than just United.
