Manchester United have their eye on Gremio winger Gustavo Nunes.
The 18-year-old, who only made his senior debut for Gremio in February, is already being touted as one of the rising stars in Brazilian football.
Gremio fans called him ‘Gustavinho’ and it is believed that Manchester United, Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in the youngster.
According to the Daily Mail, a scout from United was in Porto Alegre last week to watch Gustavo Nunes. He was a half-time substitute in Gremio’s 2-0 Copa Libertadores defeat to Huachipato.
The report adds that United are putting greater focus on emerging South American talent in a bid to get more blue for their money as Financial Fair Play continues to restrict the budget for Erik ten Hag.
United should be at least trying to identify the best young talents from across the continent rather than wait for these players to join one of the other European clubs first. That means we usually end up paying over the odds for their signature as seen with Antony.

Another South American player that United completely missed the boat on was Moises Caicedo in 2021 when the midfielder joined Brighton from Independiente del Valle. The Seagulls later made profit on the player by selling him to Chelsea for a whopping £115m.
