Manchester United academy star James Scanlon has been called up to the senior Gibraltar team ahead of the March internationals.

Gibraltar has two Nations League matches coming up against Lithuania.

It is an incredible achievement for the 17-year-old to already be thinking about making his debut as a senior international, but hard work pays off and that has certainly been the case for Scanlon.

The midfielder joined United’s academy in 2023 from Derby County’s youth system and he has quickly flown under the radar of Gibraltar’s national team.

Scanlon has made 9 appearances for United in the U18 Premier League, with four goals to his name so far this season. He also had four Premier League 2 appearances to his name.

The aim for Scanlon while away with Gibraltar is to learn from new experiences.

We would like to wish him the very best of luck!
