Alisson Becker has had many former and current professional footballers congratulating and reacting to his winning header against West Brom on the weekend.
One of the more notable players to talk about his goal was current Bayern Munich and Germany goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer.
Manuel Neuer Congratulates Alisson
Neuer and Alisson have previously mentioned each other on social media posts over the years. Last year, Alisson congratulated Neuer for winning 'The Best FIFA Goalkeeper of the Year' Award for the 2020 season, a trophy which Alisson had previously won the year before in 2019.
The German Keeper also mentioned Alisson straight after he scored the goal on Instagram saying, "What a goal my friend'. Neuer also told The Athletic that he has been messaging Alisson after his dramatic winning goal and said he's "a very nice guy".
Manuel Neuer also said while speaking to The Athletic, “I congratulated him and we exchanged a few messages.
“Every goalkeeper dreams of scoring the winning goal. Usually, you’re behind when the goalkeeper comes up, but Liverpool had to win to qualify for the Champions League of course. Phenomenal. What an amazing header."
“I’m so pleased for him. He’s a very nice guy and easy to get along with. He deserves that moment.”
So it looks like the so called 'goalkeepers union' is staying strong with Alisson and Neuer's apparent bromance that has started. Hopefully we get to see some more of the two best keepers of our generation interacting with each other. Who knows maybe Manuel Neuer will score a last minute winner for Bayern Munich one day.
