Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford picked up his 50th England cap tonight as the Three Lions booked their place in the World Cup quarter-finals.

A 3-0 win secured England’s progression to the quarterfinals in which they will face reigning world champions France, including United center-back Raphael Varane.

Rashford is in the race for this competition’s Golden Boot award having netted three goals in four appearances. Kylian Mbappe currently leads the list with five goals.

The Wythenshawe-born talent made his international debut at 18 years old and scored with his first shot, becoming the youngest player to score in their first England appearance – a record which is yet to be broken.

Rashford eyes World Cup glory

He has competed in three major tournaments for his national team before this year’s tournament; Euro 2016, World Cup 2018 and Euro 2020.

Having come so close to winning in the latter two, he will be keen to go all the way in Qatar and lift the lucrative trophy for just the second time in the Three Lions’ history.
