The future of Daichi Kamada is becoming a hot topic at Lazio due to his peculiar contract. Moreover, some teams are starting to move to potentially get him in the future. The Japanese international repeatedly voiced his concerns about the lack of opportunities. Olympique Marseille inquired insistently in the last few days, Il Messaggero reports (via Mediaset).

The midfielder returned early from international duties due to a blow to the back. However, he’s not in doubt for the Salernitana game. He’s fully expected to start to replace Luis Alberto, who’ll miss out because of a disqualification.

According to the publication, Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri hasn’t lost faith in Kamada. His exclusions have been simply tactical. He had done the same thing with Manuel Lazzari in the past to have more balance. The fullback eventually worked his way back into a regular role through sound displays.

Therefore, the former Eintracht Frankfurt ace will have to take advantage of his opportunities. The contacts with other sides have been exploratory so far and tied to the uncertain nature of his deal. He and the Biancocelesti need to activate an option to extend it for three more years in June, or he’ll become a free agent.

Our Take on Lazio and Kamada

It’s a particular situation since it’ll be tough for him to unseat Matteo Guendouzi, whose status is more than justifiable. It wouldn’t be stunning if both parties sought a way out in January.
