Manchester United’s on-loan goalkeeper Martin Dubravka had his time away with Slovakia cut short after picking up an injury in training.

The 33-year-old was prepared for his nation’s next two matches in the Nations League against Azerbaijan and Belarus, however, he has returned to Carrington where his injury will be assessed further, as confirmed by Manchester United’s official website.

Dubravka joined the Red Devils from Newcastle United on transfer deadline day and it remains to be seen if he will stay at the club beyond this season.

The Slovakian has yet to make his debut and that could be delayed longer if his recent injury is considered serious by the medical team.

With 30 senior caps to his name for Slovakia, Dubravka will be keen to get back to representing his country.

A lot of Manchester United fans assumed that Dubravka would at least get games in the Europa League but that wasn’t the case when he was benched against Real Sociedad and missing from the squad altogether for the FC Sheriff clash.
