Gareth Southgate has just named his team for the final game before the World Cup, and Mason Mount has been dropped to the bench.

The midfielder has been a key man for the Three Lions for some time now, but his poor start to the season for Chelsea has seemingly cost him, with the exceptional form of Jude Bellingham with Dortmund making him impossible to leave out.

Reece James and Raheem Sterling are in the team, and Mount will certainly feel he’s got a great chance of earning a sport back if his club form picks up.

But this game and the game on Monday are the final matches before the World Cup kicks off, and so time is running out for Mount to ensure he’s a starter for Southgate at the World Cup.

Jorginho starts for the Azzurri, also looking to avoid the shame of Nations League relegation.
