Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi has reached a multitude of impressive feats over the course of his storied career. He may be closing in on reaching another notable feat.

As it stands, Messi has recorded 36 career assists in the UEFA Champions League competition. All of these assists were tallied during his run with Barcelona, as he has yet to notch a Champions League assist over his current tenure with the Ligue 1 side.

Overall, Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo is the all-time leader in Champions League assists with 42. More so, he is currently the only player in the history of the competition to notch at least 40 assists.

Messi sure is more than capable of recording at least four assists over Champions League play in the upcoming calendar year to get to the 40 assists figure.

Angel Di Maria is also on the verge of accomplishing this feat considering that he sits right behind Messi on this leaderboard with 35 assists.

Messi and Di Maria both have an aim at helping PSG achieve Champions League triumph over this season.
