Middlesbrough manager Neil Warnock tests positive for coronavirus

English Championship side Middlesbrough announced on Thursday that manager Neil Warnock has tested positive for the coronavirus and will miss at least this coming Saturday's match versus Bournemouth.

As noted by Louise Taylor of The Guardian, Warnock first reported symptoms ahead of Tuesday's Carabao Cup fixture against Barnsley that Middlesbrough lost 2-0. Warnock didn't attend that contest and will sit out at least another game out of caution. Kevin Blackwell and Ronnie Jepson will guide Middlesbrough into the Bournemouth match with the club sitting at 18th in the table after a single matchday.

'Boro currently intend on welcoming 1,000 fans into the Riverside Stadium for the Bournemouth game, but those plans are subject to change. Reigning Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have reversed a previous decision to allow spectators to a Friday fixture because of rising coronavirus cases.
