Luka Jovic is playing a key role for Milan in the second part of the season and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri can automatically extend his stay by one more season until 2027.

The Serbia international scored the winner in a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Frosinone on Saturday and has become a crucial player for Milan, having scored seven goals in 19 matches, one every 103 minutes.

Jovic joined Milan on a free transfer from Fiorentina last summer, signing a contract until June 2024.

The Rossoneri have an option to extend his stay for one more season and according to Gazzetta, they can activate the same clause at the end of the 2024-25 and 2025-26 campaigns.

However, according to Gazzetta, Milan will soon meet the striker’s agent to see if a different sort of deal is possible.

Jovic may ask for a pay rise so the two parties may discuss an alternative deal structure. According to the report, Milan and Jovic’s representatives will try to reach an agreement in the coming months and it’s unlikely that negotiations between the two parties will continue until the end of the season.
