Rade Krunic is about to complete his long-gestating move to Fenerbahce, but Milan aren’t actively searching for a replacement at this stage. The brass and coach Stefano Pioli have decided to stand pat for the time being, Sky informs (via Calciomercato).

The Rossoneri recently signed Filippo Terracciano. He’s primarily a fullback but has played a few times as a box-to-box at Verona. The staff has been testing him as Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s deputy in practice. They spent €4.5M for the prospect. It’s basically the same sum they will get from the Turkish club.

Krunic has featured sparingly as of late, but his departure will still open up a small hole in the Milan midfield. Ismael Bennacer is currently away for AFCON. Tommaso Pobega will sit out multiple months because of a major thigh injury.

That leaves Terracciano and Yacine Adli as the only backups behind the starting trio. The boss has given some minutes to youngster Kevin Zeroli is one of their recent fixtures.

Our Take on Krunic and the Milan Midfield

They are playing with fire a little, as Loftus-Cheek has had a few physical issues and Yunus Musah just returned. They don’t have a very busy January as they didn’t qualify for the Supercoppa, so they should be able to skate by. Tijjani Reijnders is quite the ironman, and they have a more offensive 4-2-3-1 in their back pocket. They’ll be fine if Bennacer stays healthy and returns to his usual levels down the line.
