AC Milan are closing in on the return of Brahim Diaz with talks progressing thanks to a phone call from Carlo Ancelotti, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com writes that Milan are getting closer and closer to the return of Brahim Diaz thanks to the great work of the intermediaries involved in the operation. Things are proceeding swiftly, so much so that a full agreement is expected by the end of the week.

The new Real Madrid boss Ancelotti reassured Paolo Maldini during a recent phone conversation about his approval to let the 21-year-old playmaker join Milan. The clubs also agree on the transfer formula which will be a loan with option to buy and a buy-back in favour of Los Blancos.

There is still some distance on the figures though as Milan want the option set at €20m but Real Madrid but plan to make €25m, though there is great confidence across the board as relations between the two clubs are excellent.
