AC Milan have identified Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy as the next target if they fail to sign Joshiua Zirkzee from Bologna this summer.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Pianeta Milan), the Rossoneri have a low-cost option available to them if Zirkzee chooses to stay at Bologna or move to a different club.

There is little doubt now that Zirkzee is the primary choice for Milan to replace the outgoing Olivier Giroud, but a host of other teams in Europe are being linked with him as well and Milan must plan for the eventuality of him becoming unavailable.

It seems that the next choice for Milan will be to spend a lot less money than the €60m it is thought that Zirkzee will cost, and make a move for Stuttgart’s Guirassy.

The 28-year-old has been in remarkable form this season and would be available for just €17.5m thanks to his release clause, one that Stuttgart are presumably now regretting.

He has 27 goals and two assists this season in all competitions and is behind only Harry Kane in the top-scorer race in the Bundesliga. He would not be as long-term an option as Zirkzee but he is certainly far cheaper.
