AC Milan have stepped up their pursuit of Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy by strengthening their contact with the player to better understand his level of interest.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News), the Rossoneri are trying to keep as many of their striker options open as possible coming into the summer and Guirassy is one of the players on the list.

Guirassy would be the cheapest option available to Milan given he has a release clause of €17.5m, but he is also older than the other targets at 28 years old and won’t definitely be able to replicate his Stuttgart form in Italy.

Milan may want to keep Guirassy interested so that if a move for someone like Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna or Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig does not come off, there is an affordable option.

Guirassy has scored a staggering 25 Bundesliga goals in 24 appearances this season and has attracted interest from all over Europe, so it may not take long for his release clause to be triggered. He has also scored twice in the DFB Pokal.

With Olivier Giroud leaving for LAFC, Milan need to ensure they bring in a prolific striker this summer.
