Milan have had a nightmare restart to their campaign following the recent international break, losing two of their three games so far, with the most recent draw against Napoli also bringing with it a whole new set of problems. The injury list just keeps growing for Stefano Pioli, with Pierre Kalulu the latest to be sidelined for a lengthy period of time.

The Rossoneri’s defensive woes have been compounded with the layoff of Kalulu, who is set to undergo surgery after suffering a lesion of the left rectus femoris tendon. According to Sky Italia, It is estimated that he will miss four months, with recovery times certainly against Milan’s expectations.

Moreover, injuries to Marco Pellegrino and Mattia Caldara also affect Milan, as the season gradually gains pace. A welcome news might be that the former won’t need surgery but can recuperate through conservative treatments.

Apart from the aforementioned three, goalkeeper Marco Sportiello is also a casualty within the Rossoneri backline. Ismael Bennacer, Christian Pulisic, and Samuel Chukwueze are also three Milan absentees on the sidelines due to injury and fitness concerns.

Milan chief scout Geoffrey Moncada has already started scouting for reinforcements at the back.
