Milan are interested in Assan Ouedraogo, a 17-year-old midfielder who has already earned a regular role at Schalke 04. He has appeared nine times so far this season, scoring once. Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, and Brighton have him on their radar as well, Sky informs.

His team will try to leverage the situation to cash in as much as possible. There’s a €20M release clause in his contract. He can star as a no.10 too.

Milan started following Ouedraogo during the summer and will attempt to sign him either in January or at the end of the campaign. They consider the request high. They acquired Malick Thiaw from Schalke 04 in the recent past.

The teenager joined his current club in 2014 and debuted among the pros on July 28th. He hit the net versus Hamburg, becoming the youngster player to score in the history of the outfit, beating a record that previously belonged to Julian Draxler.

The prodigy possesses the German and the Burkinabè passports and wouldn’t count against the quota of extra-EU signings. He has 17 caps and one goal with the U-17 national team.

Our Take on Milan and Ouedraogo

There’d be little to argue about investing in a very talented starlet if they negotiated a fee they were comfortable with. Plus, since they have a few options in the midfield, he’d have time to get acclimated and develop in peace.
