AC Milan have been extensively linked with signing a new striker ahead of the summer mercato, and today, some information has emerged explaining why Santiago Gimenez’s agent was in Milano.

Earlier today, it was reported that Santiago Gimenez’s dad, and his agent, were in Milano, and whilst there were ideas about why he was in Italy, it was unknown if his trip involved Milan in any capacity. However, a report has emerged stating that the Rossoneri were the reason for his travels.

Calciomercato.com have claimed that the Mexican striker’s agent has met the Diavolo’s technical director, Geoffrey Moncada, to discuss the figures required for him to join the club in the upcoming summer.

With Olivier Giroud departing to Los Angeles FC, Milan have been widely expected to be active in the striker market in the upcoming window, and it seems that Gimenez may be their man after recent reports have suggested that it might cost more than €50 million to land Joshua Zirkzee.

The report later suggests that Feyenoord value their striker at €50m. However, the Rossoneri intend to speak to the Dutch club in the upcoming days, hoping to lower the asking price. While the asking price is still high, with 21 goals in 29 games in the Eredivisie this season, the Mexican striker could be the ideal candidate to fire Milan into their new era.
