Milan held an all-hands-on-deck meeting with the whole front office late last week, as owner Gerry Cardinale is currently in Italy. After some chatter, he decided not to bring in Damien Comolli and overhaul the management for the second year in a row, Sky Italy reported.

Giorgio Furlani, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Geoffrey Moncada, and Antonio D’Ottavio will maintain their current positions. The Toulouse president would have come in as the CEO. He would have most likely hired a new sporting director and coach.

RedBird Capital governs the French side as well. They would like to keep working with Comolli even if they sold the team. He has been a scout at Arsenal for nearly a decade. He then spent time at Saint-Etienne, Tottenham, Liverpool, and Fenerbahce. The matter will be further examined by the Milan patron later on. However, the current group will decide the future of Stefano Pioli and handle the summer window.

The Rossoneri brass hasn’t made the call yet. The final results will be key for the gaffer. Instead, they want to create their second team next summer, but they’ll have to wait for its formalization. Daniele Bonera, who’s currently an assistant, will manage it, while Jovan Kirovski will helm it.

Ibrahimovic will gain even more influence following the missed Milan shake-up. He’d like to change how the club runs its youth academy and follow Ajax’s model. That could lead to Enzo Vergine’s exit in favor of a new exec from the Netherlands, even though the current head was poached from Roma only a few months ago.
