AC Milan are chasing an Argentinian striker who Francesco Totti tried to bring to AS Roma three years ago when he worked for the club, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri are closely following the development of Mateo Retegui.

The 23-year-old forward is currently on loan at Tigres from Boca Juniors and he has scored four goals in four league games since the move.

His loan at Tigres does not end until December 31, 2023, which means in order to sign him from Boca Juniors a deal will need to be arranged with Tigres for them to end the loan.

The great Totti tried to bring him to Roma three years ago. Udinese are also interested in his services. In 2022, he scored 19 league goals.

He is viewed as being a more old-fashioned striker and considering the success that Olivier Guroud has had under Stefano Pioli, he could be the ideal understudy.
