AC Milan remain in talks over a potential deal for Yari Verschaeren who continues to show off during a difficult season thus far for Anderlecht, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com report that Verschaeren continues to be one of the few positive notes of what has been a tough campaign for the Brussels-based club as they are in fourth place in the standings, 8 points away from leaders Royal Union Saint-Giloise. The playmaker has an impressive 7 goals and 7 assists between league and cup, and his recent form is very encouraging.

In the last two games he netted a brace and got an assist in a 7-0 win at Beerschot and then scored the goal that put Anderlecht ahead in the 1-1 draw at home against historical rivals Standard Liège.

Anderlecht are holding on to Verschaeren for the time being and barring surprises he will remain until June, when the scenario will be different. However, the report adds that the 21-year-old could follow the path of Alexis Saelemaekers from Brussels to Milano.

Milan have him on the list of targets to come in and bolster the creative department and contacts continue, with scouts monitoring the progress of a player currently valued at €10-15m, which could rise if he keeps impressing.
