Monza head coach Raffaele Palladino has affirmed his backing of Lorenzo Colombo, while he also commented on the arrival of Daniel Maldini.

Colombo was sent on a season-long loan to Monza with the hope that he would be able to get consistent starts to aid his development. After a positive beginning, he has lost his place in the starting line-up as of late.

There have also been rumours that the Milan academy graduate could be used as a counterpart during negotiations for Alessandro Buongiorno of Torino, but that has gone quiet over the past couple of days.

Meanwhile, Milan officially announced earlier this week that they have sent Daniel Maldini to join Colombo at Monza, cutting his loan spell at Empoli short after a difficult start to the season.

Palladino spoke during his pre-match press conference on the eve of their game tomorrow against Empoli in Tuscany and he was asked about the Milan duo that he has, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“I’ve seen Colombo in the last two weeks in a great way, he will be our January signing, I believe in him a lot. Daniel Maldini has trained well, he needs continuity, but he is already within the team’s schemes.”
