José Mourinho felt Sam Beukema should have been sent off at minute 54 for a foul on Andrea Belotti and didn’t seem surprised when the Bologna defender was subbed off a few minutes later, as he told Thiago Motta and the fourth official.

Beukema had been booked in the first half and could have received a second yellow card and a subsequent red at minute 54 for a foul on Belotti. DAZN referee pundit Luca Marelli said Beukema deserved a second yellow card.

Bologna coach Motta took action immediately and replaced the Dutch defender with Jhon Lucumì at minute 58, leaving Mourinho unimpressed.

As reported by DAZN pitchside reporter Tommaso Turci, Mourinho approached the fourth official and Thiago Motta on the touchline, saying that the former Italy international, one of his former players at Inter, replaced Beukema because he knew he could have gotten a red card.

However, Motta replied that his defender’s challenge on Belotti ‘wasn’t even a foul.’

Bologna were 2-0 up and are still leading with a two-goal margin at minute 76. Follow live updates from the Stadio Dall’Ara on the LIVEBLOG.
