Napoli flop Jesper Lindstrom is on the verge of joining perennial Premier League underachievers Everton on a season-long loan. According to Fabrizio Romano, the parties have ironed out the Denmark international’s switch to Merseyside.

Everton will pay Napoli around €3 million to take the 24-year-old on loan with an option to buy. If Lindstrom’s spell at Goodison Park goes to plan, the Toffees would need to splash out an additional €22m to make his move permanent next summer.

Negotiations between Lindstrom and Everton are in advanced stages. Only the final details are missing before he leaves Napoli to embark on a career in the Premier League. It’s no surprise Antonio Conte’s men have agreed to offload the former Eintracht Frankfurt forward.

Lindstrom joined Napoli last summer, penning a five-year contract at the Diego Maradona Stadium. However, things didn’t go his way in his first season in Serie A. He failed to register a goal or an assist in all 22 league appearances for the Partenopei.

With Lindstrom on his way out, Napoli could soon complete another sale. Victor Osimhen is one step away from inking a contract at Paris Saint-Germain. But that may not be the end of the attacking outgoings amid Conte’s effort to overhaul his frontline.

Juventus have reportedly set sights on Giacomo Raspadori and Giovanni Simeone. Both players struggled for regular first-team football at Napoli last season. While the latter would favor a move, there’s a feeling the former could play a prominent role in Conte’s new system.
