Napoli midfielder Matteo Politano was delighted with their Champions League win at Union Berlin.

Politano also revealed he'd apologised to coach Rudi Garcia for a previous strop, which drew the ire of president Aurelio de Laurentiis.

He told Sky Italia: "We're taking home the result, the 3 points were so important. We have an important chance of passing the group and next week we'll play for it. In the first half we suffered a bit, losing a lot of balls and they were good at restarting."

Napoli were a team this evening...

"It was important not to concede goals, we were conceding too many lately but on a defensive level the whole team did well and we must continue like this."

The difficulties this evening in finding spaces?

"It was a difficult match, they expected us low and there was little space to come and play inside. We often went to the left, less to the right and in any case they were closed, but we could have done better."

The substitution and the farewell with Di Lorenzo?

"Yes, I was less angry than last time... The captain is always perfect with us, I have already apologised to the coach and the team and everything is back to normal."

The few spaces granted by the Union?

"They closed with the 5-man line, we needed to think quickly when we were in control of the ball. Then we are good with the ball in tight spaces."

The many fouls suffered?

"I've taken enough, but I'm fine. Now I'm trying to recover because there's another fundamental match against Milan on Sunday."
