Napoli have reportedly bid €20m plus Leo Ostigard for Radu Dragusin, while Al-Shabab have made an offer for Matteo Politano and talks with Lazar Samardzic are stalling over image rights.
The Partenopei are the busiest Serie A club in the January transfer window as they will soon announce the purchase of Pasquale Mazzocchi from Salernitana and are in advanced talks with Udinese star Samardzic. Multiple reports in Italy, including Sky Sport Italia and Corriere dello Sport, say negotiations with the 21-year-old midfielder have hit an impasse over image rights, although both parties are confident of reaching an agreement.
Napoli are also challenging Tottenham for the signing of Dragusin from Genoa. Sky Sport Italia claims the Partenopei have made an offer worth €20m plus Ostigard, a former Grifone centre-back. However the asking price for Dragusin remains €35m, so Genoa are unlikely to accept Napoli’s latest offer.
On the other hand, Il Corriere dello Sport claims Napoli’s bid is lower, at circa €13m plus Alessandro Zanoli, but Ostigard is also mentioned as an option for Genoa. According to the report, former Juventus and Atalanta defender Merih Demiral, now at Al-Ahli, is Napoli’s main alternative to Dragusin.
The Partenopei continue monitoring Boubakary Soumaré, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Emre Can, but they must sell Diego Demme before signing one of the three holding midfielders.
Lastly, Al-Shabab have reportedly offered €12m to sign Politano whose contract at the Stadio Maradona expires in June 2025. According to CorSport, new contract talks between Napoli and their winger have been put on hold, but the Italy international’s priority is to sign a new deal with the Partenopei despite Al-Shabab’s offer being worth €7m per season.
