Popular streaming platform have announced that a major documentary about Italian football legend Roberto Baggio will be coming to the platform soon.

Netflix Italia made the announcement on their official Twitter with the caption: ‘Roberto Baggio on the pitch had only one opponent: his destiny.#IlDivinCodino coming soon to Netflix.’

According to Esquire Italy, the biopic of Baggio’s life will cover key moments from his 22-year long football career as well his legendary penalty in the 1994 World Cup final.

Netflix describe the work as ‘a chronicle of the 22-year career of soccer star Roberto Baggio, including his difficult debut as a player and his deep rifts with some of his coaches.’

The story will also delve into his shocking move from Fiorentina to Juventus as well as a closer look at the man himself.

Baggio is the latest in a long line of footballers to get the Hollywood treatment after documentaries about Maradona, Pelé and Paul Gascoigne were all well received by the football world.
