Inter’s new signings were all smiles after their Supercoppa Italiana win over Napoli whilst vice-president Javier Zanetti highlighted how the team ‘let the pitch do the talking’.

The Nerazzurri cruised past Lazio in their semi-final, winning 3-0, before edging out a tense 1-0 victory over Napoli in the final on Monday evening, securing the trophy after a 91st minute winner from captain and talisman Lautaro Martinez.

The Supercoppa Italiana victory, which brings Inter around €8m in prize money, was a record-breaking achievement for Simone Inzaghi, who became the first coach to lift the trophy five times in his career.

The cup win also gives the Nerazzurri an important boost in confidence in the early stages of the second half of the season, where they’re fighting with Juventus for the Scudetto and are competing in the Champions League knockout stages.

Inter president Steven Zhang was proud of the Supercoppa Italiana win, writing: “In my heart.”

Davide Frattesi joked about his lack of experience with winning trophies, posting on his Instagram story: “How do you lift it? I haven’t practiced.”

Benjamin Pavard posted a photo of himself and the trophy alongside the caption: “The first kiss is never forgotten.”

Carlos Augusto was all smiles with the Supercoppa Italiana trophy, writing: “How beautiful! The first one is never forgotten, well done everything.”

Nerazzurri vice president Zanetti was proud of his team, commenting: “Great teamwork! Congratulations to the staff and the guys! Always together…let’s keep going! Let the pitch do the talking and always FORZA INTER!”
