Newcastle full-back Tino Livramento admitted they had a tactical plan against Manchester United that worked.

The defender tormented the Red Devils on the left side, repeatedly running past Marcus Rashford to get into dangerous positions.

While the Magpies only won the game 1-0 thanks to an Anthony Gordon goal, Livramento says they never wavered from their game plan.

He stated post-game: It was massive, we had a lot of opportunities in the first half and we just kept going - it was a great team goal to be fair to him (Gordon) and he took it well.

''We knew that if we kept playing the way that we did in the first half and creating lots of opportunities that it would eventually come.

I think it was down to us to just keep doing what we were doing and we definitely did that. Like I said we then got the goal."
