The Paris Saint-Germain midfield could receive a boost this summer transfer window, and one of the names constantly in the rumor mill is Newcastle United‘s Bruno Guimarães.

Newcastle has no desire to sell the player, but the Brazilian does have a release clause of around £100 million that takes them out of the equation and puts the decision on Guimarães. A run to the UEFA Champions League final could make PSG’s project attractive to the 26-year-old.

However, the player might be keen on staying with the Magpies. The Telegraph reported on Friday that Guimarães recently bid for a new property in an exclusive neighborhood in Northumberland—a few miles from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, where he intends to make his new family home.

Newcastle will refuse any offers below the release clause and will do the same if anyone comes in for striker Alexander Isak in the summer, too.

Journalist Ben Jacobs noted this week in his Caught Offside column that Guimarães is the more realistic name he sees leaving the Premier League club as it attempts to balance the books.

“Bruno Guimarães is a more realistic exit,” Jacobs wrote. “He is also not a player Newcastle want to lose, but his £100 million release clause could take the decision out of Newcastle’s hands [as] PSG and Manchester City both like Guimaraes.”

If Guimarães is PSG’s top target, it will take a serious effort to ensure they land the former Olympique Lyonnais player.
