Victor Osimhen will be in the Napoli squad against Inter Milan this evening, but Giacomo Raspadori will start the match.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter and Napoli are in some ways in a similar situation heading into this evening’s Serie A match.

Both teams suffered the bitter blow of elimination from the Champions League at the hands of Spanish opposition during the week.

Having each gone into the second leg of their round of sixteen tie with reason for hope, both lost their away ties.

Therefore, both the Nerazzurri and the Partenopei will want to bounce back at the San Siro this evening.

The Serie A clash at the San Siro will be the final fixture in the Italian top flight before the international break.

Victor Osimhen To Start On Bench Vs Inter – Giacomo Raspadori To Get The Nod In Attack

One of the big questions from a Napoli perspective in the last couple days has concerned the fitness of Osimhen.

The Partenopei’s star striker suffered a minor muscle problem against Barcelona a couple days ago.

The problem is nothing too serious. But it has been enough to raise major doubts about the 25-year-old’s availability to start this evening’s match.

According to the Corriere, Osimhen will definitely be ready to play a role.

The Nigerian has been called up for the match after he completed a training session yesterday with the rest of the squad without any problems.

However, that does not mean that Osimhen will be quite at 100%.

Therefore, Napoli coach Francesco Calzona will not take risk with the striker’s fitness.

Instead, it will be former Sassuolo forward Raspadori who starts in attack for the Partenopei.

Then, Osimhen will be ready to potentially make an impact as a substitute.
