A host of Inter Milan stars are preparing to celebrate their first league title, and chief among them is Hakan Calhanoglu.
The Nerazzurri are on the cusp of lifting their first Serie A title in three years. They can finish the job by beating their crosstown rivals AC Milan in Monday’s Derby della Madonnina.
While some of the current members of the squad have already celebrated the Scudetto in 2021 with Antonio Conte, others are yet to earn their first Serie A medal.
Moreso, some Nerazzurri stars are still seeking their first domestic league title anywhere.
Therefore, Il Corriere dello Sport (via FcInter1908) identifies nine Inter players who are now on the verge of clinching their first league title.
The list obviously begins with Hakan Calhanoglu. The Turk famously missed out on the Scudetto while at AC Milan.
The Rossoneri then went on to win the league in 2022, but he had already made the switch to Inter in the previous summer, sparking mocking remarks from his former teammates.
Therefore, he’ll be looking to avenge himself by sealing the title in the Derby on Monday.

Moreover, Francesco Acerbi will finally earn his maiden league medal at the age of 36. The veteran represented the likes of Milan, Sassuolo and Lazio, but never truly came close to lifting a Scudetto title.

The Italian is a youth product of the club. However, he was on loan at Hellas Verona the last time Inter won the Serie A title.
The list also includes summer signings Marcus Thuram, Davide Frattesi, Carlos Augusto and Yann Bisseck.
Finally, Albania international Kristjan Asllani will also earn his first league medal at the age of 22.
