It’s become no secret that Chelsea have been searching hard to sign a new midfielder this month, but have yet to have any success.

With time ticking by and as we approach transfer deadline day once again, where will the club turn next?

Sources: Three clubs monitoring move for Chelsea winger!

There’s been a host of midfield names linked to Chelsea in recent times, one of them is USA international Weston Mckennie.

However, Chelsea are not currently negotiating to sign Mckennie, according to Fabrizio Romano in today’s edition of his exclusive Daily Briefing for CaughtOffside’s Substack.

But he also says to ‘see what is going to happen’ with this one, even though it appears there is now an agreement between the midfielder and Leeds United.

“There’s an agreement between McKennie and Leeds on the contract and personal terms; but Leeds and Juventus are still discussing so it’s not a done deal yet,” Romano said.

“Chelsea and Spurs were not negotiating for McKennie in January, let’s see what’s going to happen because it’s still Leeds leading now.”

I don’t expect Chelsea to come in for Mckennie at this stage, even though we are seemingly linked with a new midfielder every day right now at this latter stage of the window!
