Delusion has been sweeping through theRangers support the last week or so, more so than usual since they clinched the Summer Bragging Rights Cup. Scrolling through twitter you do find a few gems, but one yesterday really caught my eye regarding captain Tavpen.

After his free kick goal against Hibs on Sunday one deluded supporter tweeted that James Tavernier was better than Shunsuke Nakamura from dead-ball situations!

Tavernier granted has a decent record from free kicks, but he’s clearly not in the same league as the sensational, world class Shunsuke Nakamura, theRangers captain is nowhere near it.

Naka scored goals against the best in Europe, in the greatest club competition. Two against a terrific Man United side. One of which booked us a place in the last 16. He of course done it domestically and who could ever forget his title winning goal at rugby park? He also done it in Serie A and of course internationally with Japan. He was one of the best dead ball experts ever.

To even compare Tavernier never mind say he is better in those situations than Naka is completely delusional. It’s the Henrik Larsson, Kris Boyd debate all over again, and like that one this one is just as ludicrous. There is no comparison to be had. End of story.
