Lazio have officially announced the arrival of goalkeeper Ivan Provedel, who has joined in a definitive transfer from Spezia.

The Biancocelesti have been focusing on signing the 28-year-old Italian shot stopper for a number of weeks now, believing he’d be a strong fit for Maurizio Sarri’s system in Rome. He’ll pair up with fellow new signing Luis Maximiano in goal and both players will be fighting for a starting spot.

Lazio released a statement this evening confirming the arrival of Ivan Provedel in a definitive transfer. It’s understood that the 28-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the Roman club worth around €1.2-1.3 million net per season. The deal with Spezia was seemingly agreed on the basis of around €2.5 million plus add-ons.

The 28-year-old Provedel will now be integrated into Sarri’s Lazio squad ahead of the rapidly approaching Serie A season. The Roman club’s campaign kicks off against Bologna on 14th August and it’s likely that Maximiano will be the starting goalkeeper.
