West Ham United defender Angelo Ogbonna is proud to be representing Italy in the Premier League.

Ogbonna was part of a function held at Italy's embassy in London ahead of tonight's Euro qualifier with England.

He told TMW: "When you are abroad you feel even more Italian. Here the dynamism is much more evident, also physical strength. Then there was the addition of foreign coaches who also brought a lot of tactics: today it is one of the best championships in the world.

"Then naturally as an Italian when you leave home you find some difficulties, perhaps with nutrition. .. Having said that, I also believe that having players from other countries here can be a resource for them."

On manager David Moyes, Ogbonna added: "Since he arrived as coach things have changed, after covid the whole club has come together and we have found positive results such as winning the Conference. Sorry for Fiorentina but our moment has come. In the last three years West Ham has also grown a lot at European level."
