Orlando Pride believe Alex Morgan will return from Tottenham for 2021 NWSL preseason

United States Women's National Team superstar Alex Morgan isn't expected to extend her stay with Tottenham Hotspur through the spring of 2021.

The 31-year-old two-time World Cup winner joined Tottenham from National Women's Soccer League side Orlando Pride on a short-term agreement last week, but questions arose regarding the length of her stay with the North London outfit.

Per Graham Hays of ESPN, Orlando coach Marc Skinner believes Morgan will return to the parent club for preseason preparations ahead of the 2021 NWSL season.

The second half of the FA Women's Super League campaign is scheduled to run through early May, while next year's NWSL calendar hasn't yet been announced. Assuming Skinner is correct, Morgan could leave Tottenham at the end of February or in early March.

"The [loan agreement] is they come back ready to go for preseason, and that will be no different for Alex," Skinner explained when speaking of players currently spending time with other clubs on short-term deals. "It might even be sooner than that. With Alex, it's a focus point on when we can get in, when's best, and we'll assess this all in the offseason. But yeah, I fully expect Alex to be part of Orlando and going forward to be part of what we're doing at the club."

According to Hays, though, Morgan is technically not on a loan and, thus, was able to negotiate her deal with Tottenham. She could be given the final say on if she remains with Tottenham through the end of the FA WSL season.
