Brazil giants Palmeiras could be set to secure former Chelsea forward Diego Costa.

The ex-Blues and Atletico Madrid star is 35 and is now a free agent after leaving Botafogo.

Costa was only with the Serie A side for a four-month spell, but could be set for another club.

Per transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano, a deal to take Costa to Palmeiras is very much on.

He tweeted: "Diego Costa could return to Brazil once again as his camp has been in direct contact with Palmeiras in the recent days.

"Discussions taking place for former Chelsea and Atlti striker joining Palmeiras."
